Ceremonies: Which One Is Right for Us?
If you're not having a traditional ceremony in a place of worship, you get to choose the shape of your own wedding — and the ceremony sets the mood for everything after it. Here are the styles we perform most, in plain language.
Civil ceremony
No religious elements at all — just the two of you, your vows, and the legal words that make it official. Usually 10–15 minutes. The classic choice for small groups (up to 20) in the park, and the most popular style we perform.
Religious ceremony
Traditional or lightly adapted to your faith — whether you're observant or not, a religious ceremony is still very much an option outdoors. Usually 20–25 minutes, and it can include the prayers, blessings, or rituals that matter to your family.
Spiritual ceremony
Not tied to one religion: it weaves meaningful elements from different traditions into something personal and reflective. Usually 20–25 minutes, with room for your own vows and rituals like candle, sand, or wine ceremonies.
Interfaith ceremony
Blends two traditions, cultures, or faiths so that both families feel celebrated and included. We work with you to honor each side with care — this is one of the most rewarding ceremonies to personalize.
Elopement ceremony
Just the two of you (plus whoever you want there) — intimate, unhurried, and entirely about the moment. Usually 10–15 minutes, often followed by a portrait walk through the park. Most of our Central Park weddings are elopements, and we never get tired of them.
Renewal of vows
For couples already married who want to rededicate themselves — an anniversary, a milestone, or simply because. Usually 15–20 minutes, and family can take part in beautiful ways.
